A key milestone in its journey was the establishment of Babu Banarasi Das University (BBDU) by Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta, in honor of his father, the late Babu Banarasi Das, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. The group’s expanded its educational influence further with the founding of Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies (AGDIPS) in New Delhi.

The inception of Babu Banarasi Das Educational Society (BBDES) marked the initiation of higher professional education in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The pioneering institution in this series, Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology & Management (BBDNITM), was established in 1998.
Subsequently, in 2010, Mr. Akhilesh Das founded Babu Banarasi Das University (BBDU), named in honor of his father and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Babu Banarasi Das. The overarching vision of the BBD Group is to revolutionize thought processes by imparting problem-solving, leadership, and teamwork skills, along with instilling values such as commitment to quality, ethical behavior, and respect for others.
